Inchlonaig Island is the most northern of the larger islands  with a remarkable view and history, most notably its link with King Robert the Bruce. Its yew trees are reputed to have been re-planted by him after using the wood for his Royal Archers.

This historical steam ship was built by A&J Inglis  around 1953 and is by far the largest steamer ever to sail on Loch Lomond. 
She was erected at their yard in Glasgow, dismantled and transported to Balloch and re-assembled on the slipway. 



Her service started on May 25th 1953 Queen Elizabeth’s coronation year, and she was the last paddle steamer ever to be built in Britain.
